Lets talk about: Life
MacRitchieRun: Waste of my time running, got a badge for 46th position, which i lost it after 2 hours. =l Well, for one thing, i just ran since its my last year here in GM, so instead of doing my usual routine of walking for the past 3 years, i have decided to run. Well, so thats the story. Anyway, unto something greater: Life.
Yeap, we're (not you mdm sng ^^) secondary 4 now, how time flies while you're still a mindless teenage fumbling through life and daily amount of school work. It'll be a flutter of an eyelid when i'm just a lonely 60 year old "ah pei" opening a rusty biscuit tin containing old memories, where i will slowly retreive an ancient, dust blanketed, school magazine, and flip through the pages. As i flip through the pages, tears will roll down my cheeks as the "best years of my life" started playing all over again in my head. Having enough, i will then close the book, sit back on my rocking chair in my messy and depilated 1 room HDB flat, waiting for death to claim my mortal body.
Now here's what some of you are going: NO! IM GUNA DRIVE MY MILLION DOLLAR FERRARI AND LAUGH AT YOU FROM MY GIANT SIZE DETACHED HOUSE WITH SWIMMING POOL AND erm..PONIES!
Well, compare the two, after 100 years. Mr rich guy becomes a great grandfather where he isn't remembered by society, and so am i. The difference? None or one just had the better taste of life. That's all.
Here are some aspects from my view:
So what if you become successful and become a corrupted soul? People will remember you for your misdeeds and how cruel you are. Eg, Adolf Hitler
So what if you just become successful? People will forget you in the matter of time. Eg, don't know who, since no one remembers him =)
So what if you are an average guy but you lived a full life by doing charity and live to make a better life for the less fortunate? Chances are, you will leave a huge impact to those that you have helped and you have a clear conscious of doing good. Eg, that 105 year old lady long ago i saw doing CIP
So what if you are successful and donate millions to the charity making MANY lives better? Well good for you! You're just like mother theresa, and enjoy life! Eg, Bill gates (he's a damn hypocrite anyway, but people recongise him as a good guy for donating, so, gg)
It's a spectrum, you know the orders, yeah. So all this about being successful, why do you want it? Simply: You simply just think success if happiness, that's why you want it. With success, you have money, with money, you can afford all sorts of luxury items. With wealth, comes power which has many uses.
So, while you are all successful in life, lets not forget about those who are less fortunate. Or even better, you desire success for the sake of making the world a better place.
